forwarding internal accounts to external Email-Adresses
« on: January 30, 2009, 12:14:09 pm »
Hi folks,

I'm using the ebox as a Mailserver for some of my domains.
I want to forward internal Emails to external Email-Adresses.
For example: My ebox hosts the domain helloworld.com, now every incoming
Email like info@helloworld.com should be forwarded to an external Email-Adress.

Can I do this with the ebox? If so - how?

thx and regards

Norm

two weeks and no reply? grrmmpfff

So I will expand my question:

The exbox uses postfix. I can edit the conf to forward Email-Adresses that
have no local accounts on the ebox to external Mail-Adresses.

Will the ebox configuration still work when I edit the postfix conf or will I
blow up the whole config?

regards

Hi,

You can edit /usr/share/ebox/stubs/mail/main.cf.mas and /usr/share/ebox/stubs/mail/master.cf.mas.
Those are the templates that are used to generate the postfix configuration.

The only thing that you should take into account is that if you upgrade ebox-mail you will lose these changes.  Just keep a copy of those files, and it will be easy to merge back your changes when you upgrade eBox.

Hope this answers your question.
