2.2rc2: error while browsing logs

While trying to look at "full" logs, I got this error message (same accessing FW and Events log)
"An internal error related to a template has occurred. This is a bug, relevant information can be found in the logs."
Notice that looking at summarized log doesn't show any error.

Looking at zentyal.log content, I got this. No analysis done yet  ;)
(I do not post error.log because, as there is no time stamp inside, I'm not able to correlate anything)

Glad to hear that the USB key installation worked for you (or at least it finished), I think it's the first feedback we receive about it. Thanks!!

In the output, what happened with the first column? Were all of them in the "ii" state? I wanted to know if there was any broken package...

I'm a little embarrassed about asking this, but how exactly is the 2.2 USB installation surprise different from what we've been able to do in the past? I've installed from a flash drive often (at first out of necessity), so I'm a little confused ...

So far I've never been able to install Ebox (never tried since we shifted to Zentyal) using USB key and having set up this key using Ubunt "startup disk creator" feature. Now it works  ;)

I don't think I tried eBox either. But on acquiring some old Dell server hardware I found out that the Ubuntu installer broke Adaptec SCSI support (6.04 was the last LTS release to work) and would irretrievably hang, making it impossible to install from a stock Zentyal ISO. While the same old hardware also didn't support USB boot disks, that could be remedied, and a USB flash drive was the only way I ever installed Zentyal on that hardware. :-\

Well, we received a lot of complains of people not being able to install eBox/Zentyal from an USB stick. We tested by ourselves and it was true, the installer gave a "CD-ROM not found" error or something like that on the first stage. Finally we discovered a "cdrom-detect/try-usb = yes" boot flag (which is the change in 2.2-rc2) and with that it seems to work.

christian, regarding to your issue, I have no idea, everything seems ok :( could you try to repeat the process on a different machine?

No I can't on different machine... because this is the only hardware dedicated for test purpose  :( but I can definitely erase everything and install again, because this is my test server  ;D
I'll do it in a couple of days and let you know.
Install from USB key is fast. What is the most painful here is that initial configuration requires to connect on server itself while I would have preferred to do it from my browser. Well, this is not a blocking point  :P

Yes, now that you mention it, I remember reading some posts about that (I think). Cool that a fix is in place. ;D

 :) We are in the Beta section. Anything related to Beta is welcome here. Furthermore this is not really OT as I'm the one having made comment about USB install  ;D
BTW, at least with my hardware (small 1.5GHz server), USB based install is really faster  :)

Hi, I've installed Zentyal 2.1 though ppa in a clean Ubuntu Server 10.04.3 system.

Ok, I think I found the problem and it's already fixed: http://trac.zentyal.org/changeset/22977

A new package will be released soon, but in the meanwhile you can apply the patch manually on /usr/share/zentyal/templates/headerWithRefresh.mas
