Recover deleted share in zentyal
« on: February 05, 2011, 02:51:32 pm »
I deleted a share in zentyal and recreated it, but all the data is lost.
I have a backup, but zentyal itself can not restore it, when I decompress the files (xxxxx.vol1.difftar.gz to xxxxx.vol6.difftar.gz) manually I don't have all files that should be in the backup, a lot of files are lost.  I tried gzip, tar and also things like 7-zip.

If you delete a share from the control panel are the files permanently gone or can you find them somewhere, cause it seems they are gone.

Yes, they are deleted. Zentyal even gives a warning like "This folder is not empty, are you sure?" before doing it.

You need to use the "duplicity"-command to restore files from a backup. For an example, see here.

Good luck.
