Two dynamic IP private networks connection with VPN
« on: December 03, 2010, 10:05:13 am »
Hi,

Our company has two offices, and each of them is using ADSL connection to access to Internet. The external IP address of each office can change about every 12 hours.

We are planing to install two Zentyal servers and use the VPN module so that we can connect the two offices. But I am fearing the stability of the connections due to the dynamic IP issue.

Could we do that in the situation of dynamic IP address?

Thanks,
Yu

Yes you can, it's exactly what I'm doing. Under the Network settings, there's an option for DynDNS; this allows you to setup the parameters to any dynamic DNS hosts to update your IP addresses with your host names. I use DynDNS, the account is free for up to two host names. It works great.
