Ebox installation problems: Permission Denied
« on: September 02, 2008, 12:45:43 pm »
Hi there,

When ever I attempt to do a
Code: [Select]
sudo /etc/init.d/ebox restart I just get a string of these error messages:
Code: [Select]
* Starting eBox module: apache
open: Permission denied
                                                                         [ OK ]
I have installed ebox on Ubuntu 8.04 using the ppa.paunchpad.net repository (v 0.11.103).

Can anyone shed any light on these error messages, and what I need to do to resolve them?

thanks,

Jamie

These errors comes in Ubuntu desktop version. Is this version the one you have installed eBox? We have just tested eBox packages on Ubuntu server edition.

Best regards,

That's just a warning.

One thing you have to take into account if you want to use eBox on a desktop is you will have to disable network manager. eBox network module and network manager don't get along very well ;)
