Add folder option not available
« on: September 01, 2008, 09:29:48 pm »
Dear Supporters,

I have set up a Ubuntu 8.04 server and added all necessary modules. I have also added groups, users and shares.

Everything is working good, but I am unable to connect to the share. I am trying to connect from a Ubuntu Client by adding a windows share. When the login prompt comes up I am typing in the username: tgra and passord together with the local domain name: grande.local.

The password keeps coming back again, so I am unable to connect.

Do you know howto trace this error? I have added privileges to the users so they can use file sharing.

Thank you very much!

Best regards,

Thomas from Norway.

Not able to mount from Ubuntu

Hello again,

OK, I see that the add folder is added to the group, so you now have to have one group per shared folder?

That is OK, but I am still not able to mount the shared folder from Ubuntu. The password is now working...

Any suggestions?

Thomas

If you upgrade your eBox [1] to the latest version, you may have the File Shares option.

Dear Support,

Everything is working now after 3 installs. The last time I installed Ubuntu and then downloaded the packages for ebox.

Do I update Ebox with apt-get?

You have to add the repositories you can find in http://ebox-platform.com/community/installation-guide/
and use apt-get

Dear Javi,

Thank you for your information. BTW: How do I find the version number in console?

I am now a happy EBOX-user and have moved all me network folders to the new Dell Server running EBOX in VMWare server. Great performance boost compared to our old Windows 2003 server.

Thomas.
