Multiple WAN Connections
« on: August 29, 2008, 07:47:21 pm »
I recently installed ebox, and am using it as a router/nat/firewall/etc for my network.

I have a configuration situation, that is probably quite simple, but I am just not sure how it should be done:

I happen to live on a boarding school campus, and have two network connections.

1) Cable Modem - fast internet
2) Campus Network - slow internet, but access to campus printers/file servers/etc

I would like to be able to route the campus subnet traffic over the campus network adapter, and all other internet traffic over the cable modem.  In the event that the cable modem were to fail, I would also like to fail over to the campus network...but that's not a critical need.

Is there some simple way to do this?

Thanks!

I think you may achieve your first goal with multigateway rules. Regarding to your second question, eBox does not provide any failback mechanism but we have this on mind, at least, a simple way to do this.

Hope this helps.
