(Solved) Proxy filters setting options changed?
« on: August 07, 2010, 10:04:09 am »
Hello,

Testing 1.5-1 here.

Looks like the filter options setting has changed a lot. Earlier, all the common possible extensions to be blocked/unblocked were listed on the screen. Additional extensions had to be added. But now, it seems we have to ADD each and every extension and specify its block/unblock status. By default, all are allowed.

This is a lot of work on the part of the admin.

Can we go back to the earlier behaviour? Or is there a workaround?

Regards

Hi kmnair,

Have you make a fresh install or upgraded?

If you upgraded it may be a known bug in 1.5.9 preinst migration, try to follow this steps and tell us if it works for you:

Thank you for your feedback

Thanks.

It is a fresh install of 1.5-1 ISO.

Thanks cperez.

I usually use installers and launchpad ppa. Could you point me to some documentation on how to use the eB svn. Yes, I saw the wiki page on this, but it does not seem to work for me. I am doing something wrong, but I cant figure out what.

Thanks in advance.

Hi kmnair

ebox-squid 1.5.9 with this bug fix has already been released, so you can upgrade from the ppa :)

I'm not sure, but you may need to purge previous ebox-squid package in order to apply migrations correctly, let us know if it worked, and don't forget to mark the topic as solved ;)

Best regards

Hello,

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ebox/1.5/ubuntu lucid main upgrading/updating does not work.

Tried apt-get remove squid and  apt-get install squid. Also tried apt-get remove ebox-squid,  and  apt-get install ebox-squid. Both did not work.

Is there another ppa for this?

I am trying to go back to the 1.5 installer and upgrade. Will come back with a report.

Thanks.

Hello,

Started from 1.5 installer. The upgrade version goes to 1.5.8 only from the ppa. But the issue reported by me is solved.

I feel there are two different ppa's involved here. Otherwise, how could somebody else upgrade to 1.5.10?

I am marking the issue solved.

Regards.
