Screencast - Multi-user-creation
« on: July 23, 2010, 02:21:48 am »
Hi I am the it-guy on my schole. I would very much like to use the free ebox solution if it wasent for my lag of linux expirince.

Each year we get 120 new students and the stay for one year, then we get 120 new (In danish my type of schole is called an "efterskole" - it a kind of school we only have in DK I think. Anyway....)

Can anyone make a screencast where they explain how to easy import a file and creat about 100 new users without typing everything into the ebox usercreation gui?

Thanks - I have read that sometime ago I think, but unless a get a screencast I can not understand to do it.

I am new to linux!! Ebox gives linux-server some kind of GUI feel to it. So if I have to do much more that write the data files for the new users I am lost.

That is why I need a sceencast!! Pls help me.

Hi Aggersborg,

follow the answer from jsalamero and read the docu. Its easy to import multi users.

post the perl script from the docu into a file and create a files "users" in the same folder. In the file "users", there are all your users which you will import.

Read it, try it, crash it :D
