openVPN: lan-to-lan or just ebox-to-ebox?
« on: February 28, 2010, 09:51:56 pm »
Hi!
To avoid riuning my nerves in hopeless tries - the manual says one can connect two lans via two eboxes. Now, my parents have a FritzBox with Freetz in use, which has built in openvpn support. so the setup would be:

LAN1 |----| eBox | ------- WAN -------| Fritzbox/openvpn |-----| LAN2

As far as I understand it, eBox uses the standard openvpn packages from ubuntu server, so I think it should work fine. Or am I mistaken?

Thx for your kind help  :)

Hi Merhaba,

LAN1 |----| eBox | ------- WAN -------| Fritzbox/openvpn |-----| LAN2

As far as I understand it, eBox uses the standard openvpn packages from ubuntu server, so I think it should work fine. Or am I mistaken?

This should work fine. Using eBox-to-eBox eases the configuration things. However, you may set eBox as OpenVPN client with your own certificates.

Cheers,
