Zentyal 4.1 and Windows 7 RSAT DHCP module
« on: September 10, 2015, 04:30:41 pm »
I'm currently trialling Zentyal 4.1 Development Edition to see how it fares as a replacement for a Windows AD/DHCP/DNS server and I ready somewhere that Windows RSAT tools could be used to manage services on the Zentyal server. I've been able to access AD Users and Groups, DNS and GPO settings using the RSAT tools but when I try to access DHCP I get an error message about the DHCP service not running on the server. I know it is because I can log in to the Zentyal web console and see it is, but for some reason I can't use the RSAT DHCP tool to manage it. Am I doing something wrong or does the RSAT DHCP tool just not interact with Zentyal properly?

Zentyal Supports RSAT for samba related services: Users and computers, GPO Editor, DNS.

DHCP is not supported with samba in any way, and therefore, DHCP RSAT tool will not work with Zentyal.
