Location of Shares
« on: April 20, 2008, 04:36:36 pm »
I am feeling pretty stupid right now, but I can ot find where new shares are created.  I set up a machine running Hardy and installed ebox on it.  I can log intot he web page and make changes to my config fine.  I have created a single group called users which has a sharing directory name of "Common".  What I can not find is where on my drive is this folder?  Is it created automatically or do I need to do so from a command line?

It's created automatically and lives under /home/samba/groups

I see now, the directory is the same name as the Group.  I thought that at the bottom where it asks for the directory name, that is what it would be named.  I guess that the directory name if for the ldap directory.  Thanks

Yeah, you have the directory name within the file system and the name given to the share resource in samba.
