1.4 in 4 weeks?
« on: January 04, 2010, 07:39:45 am »

A question for the dev's. Are you able to get 1.4 out in 4 weeks as an offical release?
According to the roadmap there is 57% left as im writing this.

Just curious, since there are features that are upcoming that i wanna use.

Thanks for your great work!

Yes, that's our intention. Don't worry about the percentage in the roadmap, most of these tickets are small tasks like documentation updates.

If you can't wait you can start testing eBox 1.3 so you can help us to make a better 1.4 :)

What features do you exactly need? Some of them are already implemented and others are coming very soon.

These three mainly:

Active Directory sync
Webmail
Support for Master-Slave LDAP

Is 1.3 reasonably stable?

These 3 features are already in 1.3 some time ago! :)

Regarding the stability... they will never be stable if they are not tested enough. So if you help us testing them we will be very grateful.

Anyway, maybe you don't want to deploy 1.3 in production yet, but you can start testing it in a spare or virtual machine.

Will 1.4 be available for Ubuntu 9.10 and 9.04?

Thanks!

I don't think so. eBox will be only officially available for the Ubuntu LTS releases. The current LTS is still 8.04. The next one is 10.04 and eBox 2.0 will be based on it.
