Access to mailbox with IMAP protocol

Hello,
is it possible access to my mailbox with protocol IMAP?
My need is to create a sort of public folder (in the original I cannot setup ACL... so cannot write or create elements). In all customer I'll create MAPI exchange access and also IMAP access to a service user called "public" that share folders.
