Estoy tratando de poner en marcha el jabber pero los clientes con pidgy no pueden conectarse.
Me podrían explicar como debo configurar esta parte? "No me digan que  esta en la doc ... no entiendo"

Domain Name:
    Specifying the name of the server, the users’ accounts will be user@domain.
    Tip
    domain should have an entry in the DNS, so it can be resolved.

hola alejandro,

debes asegurarte que desde los clientes se resuelve el nombre de dominio que tienes configurado en el módulo de ebox-jabber, por ejemplo, si el usuario jabber es alejandro@tuempresa.com, desde es máquina debes de poder hacer ping a tuempresa.com y debe responder la máquina ebox. esto lo puedes hacer con el módulo de ebox-dns.

si vas a utilizar las conferencias, el subdominio conference.tuempresa.com deberá apuntar también al servidor de jabber.

espero haberte aclarado las dudas.

Ok. pero el tuempresa.com esta externo. y si le doy ping lo resuelve pero afuera.

alejandro,

entonces lo que debes hacer es crear el dominio im.tuempresa.com (de instant messaging) o jabber.tuempresa.com o xmpp.tuempresa.com y hacer que ebox-dns resuelva ese dominio a la ip del servidor de jabber. configura ese dominio en ebox-jabber y las direcciones de los clientes serán usuario@im.tuempresa.com. también deberás crear el subdominio conference.im.tuempresa.com apuntando al servidor de jabber también.

Solo que hay maquinas que se conectan y otras no. Alguna idea??

no te puedo decir con tan poca información, estás usando SSL/TLS ? qué sistema operativo ? que cliente ? qué error te dan ? puedes resolver el dominio desde esas máquinas ?

Si estamos usando ssl como lo indican en le manual, el cliente para windows que estamos usando es: Pidgin 2.6.3  y el error que nos muestra es: Falló la conexión SSL

sólo puedo ver las capturas primera del cliente y la del servidor que parecen correctas.

puedes comprobar que se han subido las de las pestañas avanzada y pasarela del pidgin ?

la opcion "Conectar con el servidor" coincide con la IP del servidor eBox ? por qué no pruebas poniendo ahí im.tuempresa.com ?

si no, podrías mostrarnos las últimas líneas de /var/log/jabberd2/c2s.log y /var/log/jabberd2/sm.log ?

Jsalamero, en el servidor jabber .... SSL support: le coloque "Optional" y así fue me funciono.
