Can not access shared folder from windows client

i followed the configuration carefully of creating a shared folder.

Problem: can not access the shared folder after added it successfully from the windows 7 prof client.
error message: \\domain\foldername is not accessible you might not have permission to use this network resource.
logon failure: the target account name is incorrect

any help will be appreciated.

If the server asks you for your username password when you try to connect are you just typing your username?

It might be worth trying yourdomain\username

eg mycompany\simon  or even myconpany.local\simon
