Server Can't Find Recipient Mailboxes - ActiveSync
« on: July 29, 2014, 04:35:49 pm »
I just upgraded to 3.5 from 3.4 and set up ActiveSync. I'm having mixed success syncing devices, but the most pressing issue is that while I can send emails from my connected accounts using clients on external devices, sending messages to the mailboxes I have set up is resulting in bouncebacks.

I'm using a mail relay service (No-IP Mail Reflector), but that part of the set up is functioning correctly. Here's the bounceback message. Any help would be great! - Ted

The email address you specified couldn't be found or is invalid. It may be due to a bad entry in your Outlook or Outlook Web App recipient AutoComplete cache. Use the steps below to delete the entry from the cache:
1.   Click New mail.
2.   In the To field start typing the recipient's name or email address until the recipient appears in the drop-down list.
3.   Use the DOWN ARROW and UP ARROW keys to select the recipient, and then press the DELETE key.
Then resend your message – delete and retype the recipient’s name or e-mail address before sending it.
For more tips on how to resolve this issue see DSN code 5.1.1 in Exchange Online.

A couple of additional notes:
  • the users *are* in fact set up and openchange is enabled
  • this is a standalone server (not a virtual machine), in case that matters

An update. I've made sure that all components are up to date as there have been a few upgrades in the last week or so, but the problem still persists. Any thoughts on why the server wouldn't be recognizing the user mailboxes?
