problem with mail configuration

is it mandatory a mx record on my isp dns that point to my public ip to have mail server working?

Hello:

Yes unless you do not want your mail rejected by some mail servers tthat actively do MAX lookups for avoiding spam. You should as well make sure to correctly define TXT SPF records in DNS

so that's why you have removed fetchmail from dashboard config , it's a problem if you have a crappy adsl...some hint to configure fetchmail?
