proxy http hangs up after working hours
« on: March 18, 2014, 04:14:07 pm »
Hi, I just installed Zentyal 3.3.0 to test it, after applying updates it's now 3.3.5. All works ok. but after 6PM (after working hours) proxy http hangs up, early morning the next day, I try to navigate and i got the message "The server is taking to much time to answer",  I tried a ping, sometimes it answer, sometimes (most of the time) not.  Also you can't enter via WEB administration from the lan. I have to go to the console, sometimes I only need to reinitiate http proxy and all works fine again, but sometimes I need to reboot the server. This happens every day for a week now. I don't know if something is missing or wrong with the configuration, but can't find it, also search in the forum but no luck. Can you help me determining what is happening?  Thanks in advance for you support.

Hello:

I would access the system though SSH or locally, and check if you have high wa% (I/O), and if so check which process is responsible with the help of iotop

Ok, do I have to do something to be ready???  Right now my server is not registered.  Do you need that?

Ok, attached is an image of the top command.  Remeber in this moment it's working hours, there are 5 users using the system (I mean navigating Internet).  Whe the problem occurs (after hours) there is nobody working.  I'm trying only to describe the environment. Thanks.

Values seem to be ok now, check then when you detect the issue again

Ok. I'll check but have to wait until tonight, when the problem occurs.  I'll let you know tomorrow.

Hi, as every day, the http proxy is out of business, but today I can make a ping and can enter to the Web administration. The highest value for "Wa" was 0.5%.  Attached some images. You can see in the dashboard that all is running fine. In the squid image, you can notice the last message registered was yesterday at 17:57, probably when it hangs. As I told you in this system there is only 5 users navigating, because we are in a testing process. There is no a big load. Thanks.

Hello: Check in cache log (/var/log/squid/cache.log) then to see if any messgae here could point to the reason of this

Hello, I could not find any message that would guide me in the cache log. But what I did was uninstall and reinstall the http proxy. This morning the navigation is still running, this is progress. The only thing that remains now is the access.log, consulting it through the http proxy option in the Web Admin, no longer continues to record the accesses after 18:00, but with the tail-f / var / command log / access.log, I can confirm that it is recording the messages, however in the Web Admin, stays until 18:00. I have to restart the module "registros" to continue showing messages in the Web Admin. Don't know why this problems, the Zentyal installation was a clean process with no errors.
