backup and multiple installs
« on: December 20, 2007, 07:14:29 pm »
This weekend I am creating a standard config for ebox. I work for a non-profit healthcare provider to native amercians. I have 90 clinics that I will install ebox at.

My question is this: Does backup utility on ebox provide ghosting? Or do you have a suggestion of how to go about this based on your experience with ebox?

thanks

Hi there,

I would suggest you set up a configuration base and backup it.

Use our custom installer and once eBox is up and running just upload and restore the backup.

You could try external software like http://systemimager.org to speed up the process.

thanks for the reply. I have not heard of systemimager, it looks interesting. I will check it out and let you know what happens.

I have used dd in the past to create clones of image for slackware based installs. It works very well but it takes fussing with a little to get it right. I posted to see what you guys recommended.

thanks again
