Problem with large file
« on: August 13, 2009, 12:59:13 pm »
Hello,
 I am installing eBox in a small environment (4 PC + 2 Printers).
 Most of the things worked smooth so far, until I decided to move a 3.8 Gb
 file (Outlook 2003 .pst) to one of the users directory on the server. It
 is Ok to copy the file, after that it is impossible to access it or even
 copy it to the local computer. Other copied files are all ok...

Message I get on Vista client machine is that I don't have sufficient rights to open the file, contact the admin or owner of the file, etc... (although it is in French..). Every single other file I have copied there is working fine, except for this one...

 Server is Dell AMD64.
 2GB RAM
 250GB hard disk:
 * 238 Gb in linux
 * 6 Gb in extended
 * 6 Gb in swap
 File system is ext3.
 User space limit on hard disk is 200GB...
 Approx 180 Gb free disk space

 Did you have any similar problem?
 Thanks.
 Ted

I am having the same issue. Did you ever resolve this? I saw another post shown below. I really need the AV and don't want to remove it.

summary changed from ebox 1.2 files bigger 2GB can not be read from SAMBA Drive to ebox 1.2 files bigger 2GB can not be read from SAMBA Drive with clamd(antivirus)
Hi,

this issue is not related to samba but to clamd. I removed all clamd entries in smb.conf and removed the ebox anti virus module.

now it's working perfect and explorer is not freezing anymore.

BTW. clamd brought my server (3GHz P4-786M Ram) to an average load of 3.1.
