windows active directory authentication possible?

Hi, is it possible to authenticate users against a 2003 windows active directory server? I'd like to authenticate for more than one module e.g. squid and openvpn for starters.

If not, are there any workarounds? e.g. sync-ing the ebox ldap directory with an active directory server?
