HI all, newbie here. would like to ask how to go about with zentyal to work as a transparent proxy server that has user authentication, and at the same time log the websites that users visit. This is a school scenario for gradeschoolers and junior high school.

My setup is.
192.168.0.1 Tomato RAF gateway with DHCP
192.168.0.2 Zentyal(proxy server)
192.168.0.3-254 dhcp range.

(192.168.0.2) functions as a proxy server, at the same time logs per user's visited websites.

bad luck, you are stacking all the wrong ingredients.

1 - HTTP proxy and authentication definitely do not go together.
2 - your default gateway is currently 192.168.0.1 but transparent proxy not being the default gateway is quite tricky.

If authentication is a must, then is can not be transparent proxy (no way)
If transparent proxy is a must, then make it your default gateway
