installation error in ubuntu VPS

i am trying to install zentyal on ubuntu 12.

by installing via

sudo apt-get install zentyal,
it asks me for sql password & port. i entered it but installation stops at

tried to install it on new server, but same error comes

will it support in ubuntu 10? i have that image also.

I'll try to simulate your situation.
I downloaded this image http://releases.ubuntu.com/12.04.1/ubuntu-12.04.1-server-i386.iso.torrent/
Install in the minimum configuration.
Add repository using sudo apt-get install-y python-software-properties && sudo add-apt-repository ppa: zentyal/3.0 && sudo apt-get update

and try sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install zentyal.
About result after 30 minutes

Firstly you need to check what repo's are enabled.

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

also have a look in /etc/apt/sourcesd (or something very close)

sudo reboot
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install zentyal-core

thanks for guidance, but ubuntu installation is done.
there is some error in installing zentyal.

You might of had some of the initial repo's and dependencies missing.

I have hosted zentyal myself. If possible just reinialise the vps if possible.

Make sure everything is in place as version 2 is 10.04 lts version 3 is 12.04 lts so it should work.

You never know with hosts though some do restrict items and you can get into what I call dependancy hell.

I think that the problem started after the installation of a password for mysql.
Try reinstall zentyal and do not enter a password mysql leave blank

sudo apt-get purge zentyal
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt-get install zentyal

Yeah well spotted someone should ask why you can't add a password on install.

It does screw things if you do.

Zentyal?

Its easy enough to do after install but why?
