zenbuntu-desktop package ???

I am installing Zentyal on a fresh Ubuntu 12.04 installation as the Zentyal 2.3 x64 doesn't pick up my raid controller but Ubuntu server 12.04 X64 does.
I have everything installed as per the installation on an Ubuntu 12,04 server except the instructions below.

If you want to install the full graphical environment you can install zenbuntu-desktop instead of just zentyal:

sudo apt-get install zenbuntu-desktop

It cannot find the zenbuntu-desktop package ?

Where is it kept because its not found in the repositories in the installation doc

As far as I can see only packages for 2.0/2.2 are available in Launchpad PPA
https://launchpad.net/~zentyal/+archive/desktop

The packages for precise are not (yet) released.

robb, zenbuntu-desktop is not the same as zentyal-desktop, anyway, none of them are available yet for precise, but the first one should be available soon

As justin said zenbuntu-desktop is "to install the full graphical environment" (LXDE, etc), zentyal-desktop is what you already know, a tool for autoconfiguration of client desktops, etc.

Currently there is no zentyal-desktop for 12.04, hope there will be in the near future

Regarding zenbuntu-desktop, we have it ready (it is included in the official Zentyal installers), but haven't had time to publish it yet for regular Ubuntu server installations, we'll do it really soon.

zenbuntu-desktop is already available in 2.3/3.0! Now you can just install run apt-get install zenbuntu-desktop on your Ubuntu server 12.04 and reboot the computer, the result will be mostly the same as if you were used the Zentyal installer (Zentyal installation will start after the reboot).

I think there is a misunderstanding, I like to integrate (join domain) my ubuntu-client to the zentyal-server.

I can remember there was a package to automate that work ?

Any progress here? I'd like to set up a bunch of Xubuntu 12.04 desktop clients with Zentyal, but I cannot proceed as long as no easy to manage and maintain solution is available… Downgrading to 10.04 is not an option.

I see that precise is listed at http://ppa.launchpad.net/zentyal/desktop/ubuntu/dists/precise. However, after adding that path to my package sources, I still cannot install zentyal-desktop. Is there somewhere listed on the forum, what help is needed to complete this item?

I am afraid, the desktop will have lower priority that ironing out the Samba4 hickups. I think that is understandable. Samba4 just came out of beta and still had some rough edges (mildly speaking)

However, there is already some good info on how to use Ubuntu based clients with a Zamba server.
