[solved] Thin Client module : dhcp configuration

I just tried the new Thin Client module as explained here : http://forum.zentyal.org/index.php/topic,10008. It all works pretty fine and this is surely going to be an excellent addition to the next Zentyal stable release.

To get it working, I had to set myself the dhcp server thin client options. I think it would be a great help to be able to choose between the existing ltsp images, instead of just having the opportunity to type in someting like /ltsp/i386/pxelinux.0 in the "file path in next server" field.

Anyway, it seems allready very good for a beta version ! Thanks for the good work.

Hello Lapinou,

in the dhcp server thin client configuration, if you select "Zentyal LTSP" as "Next server" you can then select the architecture of the image instead of having to enter its path. In your case, you can select "32 bits" for i386 images.

Hi Neru,

just checked once again : the dropdown list shows me "Zentyal" and "Host", but no "Zentyal LTSP". If I choose "Host" a new field appears to allow me to enter its ip address. If I choose "Zentyal", nothing ... just as usual, before LTSP module.

I installed the whole shebang today ... should be up to date !

In the management console (software management / Zentyal components / "Delete" tab) : DHCP service 2.3.3.

In a terminal, apt-cache showpkg zentyal-dhcp says version 2.3.3.

Hello,

you should now be able to install version 2.3.4 of zentyal-dhcp from our ppa which will allow you to do the dhcp thin client configuration the way I told you. There was a conflict between the zentyal-dhcp package in our ppa and the one in the ubuntu repos.

Updates between 2.3 packages are not sure to work flawlessly, so you may need to do a fresh install for everything to work properly.
