does the solution work for you?

I'm waiting for the proper fix to the real problem

There is a duplication of this over here that J. A. Calvo commented on yesterday but all quiet snce then. He did say he thought it was a "corner case" but judjing by the number of posts probably isn't:

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Webadmin Internal Server Error
« on: November 12, 2014, 04:42:09 pm »

Removing that only hides the real error, it's not a proper fix.

Please we need the contents of /var/log/zentyal/zentyal.log (and probably also /var/log/zentyal/error.log) to see the real error in order to diagnose it and fix it.

This has to be some corner case because in all our tests the upgrades have been successful.

More of us over here on duplication of topic:

I'm off site at the moment. When I get back I'll check it out.

I have the same issue - Is it related to the web-server being disabled?

Very interesting - but does anybody have any ideas on helping me get out of my original problem?

Just came back from a similar event, yesterday when applying updates the server froze entirely.
As it is a remote one, I could only check today what had happened.
The server was completely frozen, so I rebooted the system.
After that, from a console, apt-get update and apt-get upgrade.
Everything worked again and so far as I can see there are no permanent issues.

Cheers.

Thanks but I've tried that already and get the same message after the failure to upgrade.

After recent system updates I have error message as below in "Zentyal Components"
-------------------
The following packages are not properly installed. You need to fix this before trying to use them or install new modules.
Component    Description    Version
zentyal-samba    Zentyal - File Sharing and Domain Services    3.0.10
To solve this situation, please try to execute the following command in the console:

sudo dpkg --configure -a
---------------------

Running the above does not fix and gives the following output:

-------------------

XXXXXX:~$ sudo dpkg --configure -a
Setting up zentyal-samba (3.0.10) ...
DBI connect('eboxlogs','ebox',...) failed: Access denied for user 'ebox'@'localhost' (using password: YES) at /usr/share/perl5/EBox/MyDBEngine.pm line 122
(in cleanup) There wasn't a database connection, check if database exists\n at /usr/share/perl/5.14/Carp.pm line 79.
dpkg: error processing zentyal-samba (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 255
Errors were encountered while processing:
 zentyal-samba

------------------------

Any help in fixing would be appreciated.

Thanks

I struggled a bit until I figured out it was a time issue. Windows using a non active ntp server.

All OK as soon as the time on the windows machines corrected.

I wish I'd seen FarquahrWindsor's post above before I spent a couple of hours head scratching!
