Hi all,
The Zentyal Development Team proudly presents Zentyal 4.0, a new release of the Zentyal Open Source Linux small business server with native Microsoft® Exchange protocol implementation and Active Directory interoperability.
This release focuses on providing an improved and stable server edition with native Microsoft® Exchange protocol implementation and Active Directory interoperability, with the goal of providing a complete and easy-to-use Small Business Server, with native support for mixed IT environments that include Windows®, Linux and Mac OS® clients, as well as mobile devices with ActiveSync®. Thanks to this, Zentyal server 4.0 offers full native Microsoft® Outlook Compatibility without plugins or connectors.

We would like to thank the community and all early adopters involved in making 4.0 the best release ever. We wish you will have as much pleasure and satisfaction using this new release that we had working on it.
Looking forward your feedback and don't forget more updates and new features are coming among next weeks!

I have installed the latest version last night and the following is still outstanding
1. INBOX auto refresh does not work, this is by far the biggest problem :o
2. Calendar Sharing does not work
3. Out of Office does not sync properly to server
Guys we can not sell a defective product to clients.
-
Unfortunately I can confirm that auto refresh of inbox is not working. Tested with Outlook 2010 32 64 bit and Outlook 2013 as well
-
Congratulations thanks for the new release 4.0
Please verify the webadmin interface, it gives errors in the option " users and computers ", at boottime there is also an error with starting nginx.
This two errors does not occurs before the latest upgrade of release 4.0
Best regards,
Ian

This. The state that this has been released in is horrifyingly bad, and the Zentyal devs should be ashamed of it.
I am starting to think that they know it sucks, they just want to appear to be making leaps and strides in the act of replacing Microsoft Exchange to boost sales of the non-free product.

I am challenging J. A. Calvo to answer what is going on with mailbox auto refresh and other promised futures regarding Open Change. I hope the Moderator will not delete my post. Seriously at this stage Zentyal is not replacement of AD and MS Exchange server. Please prove me wrong! >:(
-
It will eventually be fixed by the devs. Meanwhile, instead of complaining, if you guys open a bug report it can not be overlooked.
Zentyal 3.5 is a few months old and still has issues. Just be patient.
Cheers.

Hello:
Upgrade from 3.5, as release notes say will be done . Please give us some time to make sure it will work ;):
The migration from Zentyal 3.5 to 4.0, will be published shortly. After upgrading to the new 3.5 package a button will appear on the dashboard.
Automatic migration path from the latest commercial version (Zentyal Server 3.2 SP2) will be provided as well. The migration process will be made available in a few weeks in order to consolidate the scenario.
Regarding autorefresh, we have done some work regarding this but unfortunately it has not been possible to include it for this release. We'll continue working at it, give for granted, and hopefully we might include this in some upgrade.
Regarding Calendar and Out-of-the-Office, please post bug reports on tracker portal, as Scorpion suggests
Cheers

There is a way to configure a polling mechanism in the client that could mitigate this problem for some use cases:

Thank you ! And please dont forget the 32-Bit Version

Hi i solved my not able to connect to the network issue it was caused by Zentyal installer is recognizing my eth0 as p0031 or something like that i changed it to eth0 in /etc/network/interfaces and then it works. Just telling if somone else is having the same issue.
-
why webmail and webserver not update?
-
Webmail and webserver modules no longer exist.
Webserver will not exist as Apache will not be handled by Zentyal anymore (just add small bits of config for other modules, but it is not really handled by Zentyal)
WebMail functionality is now integrated into Openchange module

Just tried again and it works now. It may just have been fixed following the yesterday issues with the forum and the wiki.
