Looks like the new 7.1 ISO dropped recently.    The website isn't updated yet but you can still get the iso

Confirmed.  Overriding the postmaster email address to an existing address fixed the errors and the filters now work as before.

I can tell you that you are not alone.  I am seeing the same behavior post upgrade to 7.0.   I see the following in the logs:

I don't have a root cause or a solution yet.

Nevermind,  I missed line 19 of https://github.com/zentyal/zentyal/blob/feature/ubuntu20/main/ucp/debian/control  Which states:

 This modules adds a transparent monitoring system for commercial editions

Someone want to clue me in on exactly what Zentyal-UCP is?  I've been through the sourcecode and looked at the installed components and still can't identify its purpose.

First and foremost,  don't use an admin level user to query ldap.  All you need is a non privileged user to do read only queries.  Use that users DN and their password to connect to ldap. 


I suggest using an ldap query tool to troubleshoot such as  Apache Studio  http://directory.apache.org/studio/downloads.html  It has been awhile but you might need to adjust the ldap filters for your needs.

While not really solving your problem with this answer,  I can suggest a work-around if you don't have a high email volume.  https://www.mailgun.com/ has a free tier up to 10k emails per month.  I found it easy to configure with Zentyal.

Here's a hunch,  you have IDS/IPS enabled?  Turn it off.  Try again.

I have been told elsewhere that I am "not doing it right" .  Funny,  nginx, apache, postfix,and cockpit are working.

Did you follow the progress via the command line ?

If so, what did it say when progress stopped?

I applied the 5.13 update and then ran the upgrade to 6.   I was successful on  the first try.  The version is now 6.0.1.

Docker and Cockpit running as expected.

Letsencrypt certificates working and automated.
