Installation and Upgrades / Re: Openchange Not Working .... most of the time.

"It is quite strange as nobody else is complaining."
I am struggling to get MAPI working so I am using IMAP for now.
There is supposed to be a new feature coming, a button to 'reset' a MAPI account if it gets porked up.

Which key or cert, there are many when I download and unzip?
Exactly which store should they go in?
The key it is questioning is 'localhost' but there is no download for that?

Try running a stock Ubuntu 14.04 for a couple of days to see if that has the same problem?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: OpenChange Outlook Anywhere with dynamic hostname
« on: September 16, 2014, 11:18:16 am »
I'm pretty sure this will work BWF, but not 100%
The internal IP of the Zentyal server will be fixed, probably as a 192.168.x.y ?
The Zentyal DNS will set it's self up when you setup OpenChange
It *should* be automagic :-)

When you say a 'dynamic hostname' do you mean a dynamic IP?

Would a hosts file entry help as a quick and dirty fix to get you out of a hole?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Cannot access Active Directory Accounts

Make sure that you understand the difference between the Zentyal admin and the Active Directory Admin
Zentyal Admin defined in 'System -> General'
AD Admin defined in 'Users and Computers -> Manage -> Administrator'
Make sense?

Several Methods spring to mind
Shares and robocopy - the windows way
Deltacopy - my favorite
WinSCP - always useful
USB Disk - keeps a copy as well

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Using USB stick as system drive

gregor, In my experience with the N54L you will be better off booting from SSD if you can rather than USB
FreeNAS and ESXi both run well from USB but I've not had so much luck with Ubuntu

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Adding another server to zentyal
« on: September 15, 2014, 01:05:34 pm »
OK, it is a case of going into the Firewall then Packet Filter then picking the appropriate filter
Next you add a Rule and in the rule you add a Service
Slightly long winded but very flexible :-)
Does this help?

Hello Superyzag,
It sounds like you need to open the port in the Zentyal firewall for your SIP server?
As a quick test you can stop the firewall at the command line and test again
sudo /etc/init.d/zentyal firewall stop
For the long term you need to make a rule in the firewall for the appropriate interface and then it will work after a reboot.

Zentyal sits on top of standard Ubuntu so you can just follow a guide to running Ubuntu from a USB Stick.
As you say moving the most frequently accessed drives will save wear and tear on the USB Stick.
If you are not experienced in this (as I am not) then it may be worth thinking about virtualising the Zentyal install on top of KVM or ESXi or ProxMox
All depends what your motivation is...

Installation and Upgrades / Slow migration
« on: September 14, 2014, 08:58:16 am »
I am migrating a customer from their old, web based POP3 solution to their new, onsite Zentyal OpenChange server.
I am hoping to do a slow migration moving the users one at a time so I can set them up nicely and spend time making sure they are comfortable with the new systems.
I thought I could be really clever by using Fetchmail to grab a users email from the POP3 server onto the Zentyal server when I migrate them and indeed that works a treat but I didn't think about sending email.
If they send externally it's fine but if they send internally to a team member who is not on the Zentyal box that team members email sits on the Zentyal box which they are not yet looking at.
Has anyone worked around this problem before or does anyone have any better solutions?
Simon

Hello jx3000,
I have put the cat amongst the pigeons by trying to setup this exact same scenario that you are describing and the team are working on a solution right now to get a working system.
I am hoping that the required updates are days away rather than weeks - watch this space as they say...
