Title: Zentyal Desktop 0.3 with roaming profiles ready to test!
Post by: J. A. Calvo on November 03, 2010, 11:42:03 pm
Hi Zentyal users,

We've just made available the first version of Zentyal Desktop with roaming profiles. Currently it only has support for Ubuntu 10.04.

This version allows to have the users data synchronized with the server, so a user can work with the same data on different computers of the network, like in a Windows domain.

Note that this is still alpha software, we would be glad if you could help testing it and giving us some feedback.

Here you can find all the information about installation and configuration:

Are you going to build a package for maverick later on or should we aim for 10.04 when testing?

Hello,

Is it posible to have Zentyal desktop workstations and windows ( Xp or 7 ) workstations on the same Zentyal 2.0 server domain controller ?

This must than result in a mix of Linux and Windows clients in the same network and domain.

Thanks,
Ian

Could you try to apply this patch in the /usr/share/zentyal-desktop/zentyal-setup-user file?

Thanks.

Calvo, that seems to do the trick :)
i am still testing, but at least all the shares seem mounted :)

edit 1)
i see warnings about an unverified public key, you might want to look into that :)

Thanks for the feedback!

Regarding to the key, you can visit:

https://launchpad.net/~zentyal/+archive/desktop

And click on "Technical details about this PPA", there you can find the key ID and instructions on how to add it.

We'll add it to our documentation anyway.

Hi, I'like now if is possible delete users's home folder in LOCAL after LOGOUT.

Security reasons in shared PCs...

I now that will give an extra work for the server! But I can't allow any user see other users's data!

I woud like take all data in the server.

Am I clear?
