Directory and Authentication / Shell access on second domain controller
« on: November 23, 2015, 06:57:30 pm »
I was trying to set up a second domain controller and I turned on PAM for that machine, but it still doesn't see the accounts. If this normal behaviour?

Sorry It's been a while. Still having the issue.

Starting with logging in: data/images/title-login.png

Once inside I'm missing:
* /data/images/title.png

Once I try to go into User & Groups -> Users all of the icons normally under edit are missing.
* /data/images/edit-table.gif

This is the same under all modules.

the ebox error logs say stuff like this

[Fri Jun 17 14:54:46 2011] [error] [client XX.XX.XX.XX] File does not exist: /images/edit-table.gif, referer: https://XXXXXXXX/ebox/UsersAndGroups/Users

Installation and Upgrades / Missing PNG
« on: May 04, 2011, 03:45:22 am »
I have 3 server all doing the same thing. The Zentyal web interface is missing png icons, which means it's really hard to "configure" things because the icons are not there. I resorted to using Chrome because it will show the broken icon which is click-able. I looked through the Zentyal apache and it all seems fine. Is anyone else having this problem... and know how to fix it

Installation and Upgrades / netlogon and mapped network drives
« on: April 15, 2011, 04:45:19 am »
I was kinda surprised by the recent change to zentyal's netlogon script from netlogon.bat to zentyal-logon.bat. This will clearly break some networks and was kinda unexpected.

Having said that, how is recommended to setup mapped network drives?

If there is not a way, could you guys just add a include netlogon.bat at the bottom of you zentyal-logon.bat so we can add local changes without it getting overwritten?

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Migrating Standalone to Master Slave.
« on: December 21, 2010, 07:58:07 pm »
Thanks for the quick reply and your input. I didn't consider export to importing of  the samba attributes. I'll give that a test.

What do you guys recommend for the master... a VM?

Installation and Upgrades / Migrating Standalone to Master Slave.
« on: December 20, 2010, 04:28:05 pm »
I was kind of surprised to find out that Zentyal master and slave LDAP only worked if the master didn't have any modules that used user and groups. I found documentation on the Wiki that outlined this, but the default documentation that pops up during Zentyal configuration when you select Master and Slave does not mention this, so I guess this is a request for the default documentation to mention this limitation... in bold!

Anyway my question to the community is how are people migrating from a standalone server to a master/slave servers. It seems obvious that small business are going to start out with 1 server, then migrate to multiple servers. It appears reinstall is required. I have a server that is acting as a samba PDC that is the master. I want to add a router that will connect to the LDAP so I can setup proxy authentication, so how would I move to that? I realize I now need a 3rd machine to act as a master, but can I migrate the users from the current master to the new master, then connect the Samba PDC to it and not lose the domain...? Will windows machines added to the domain still recognize the PDC?

I setup a test environment when I set up a standalone with users and groups for Samba/LDAP and removed all modules that need users and groups from the master and tried to connect a slave, but the slave couldn't replicate. When I reinstalled, the slave could connect. This really diminished my hope for an easy migration.

Thanks for any help,
Jeffrey Brite

Installation and Upgrades / ebox-dhcp and OPSI
« on: October 04, 2010, 02:38:00 am »
I'm currently working on getting Zentyal and OPSI on the same machine, but ebox-dhcp depends on tftpd-hpa and OPSI has it's own patched tftp server package it wants to install which causes a conflict.

Is there a reason that ebox-dhcp needs a tftp server at all. Zentyal doesn't appear to use it in any way that I know of.

I was considering downloading the source and ripping out the line that says it depends on tftpd-hpa, but I don't want to break anything. If it doesn't break anything, I'd like to recommend to the Zentyal team to remove the dependence and move it to a recommends or suggestion.

I guess I'll through another plug for OPSI Zentyal integration. It looks like GOSA has their own front-end to OPSI so you can by-pass using the OPSI Java based front-end. So maybe grabbing code ideas from them.

Anyway, great job of the Zentyal 2.0. It's pretty awesome.
