Installation and Upgrades / Re: new modules on zentyal 2.2 installed on ubuntu 10.04 :-(
« on: March 21, 2017, 04:06:58 pm »
¡Hola!
Edit your /etc/apt/sources.list file and add
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/zentyal/2.2/ubuntu lucid main
at the end.
Check that your general apt server is "old-releases.ubuntu.com" -- e.g.
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid main restricted
Kind regards - Oliver

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Can't save configuration because network interface was removed?

How many network cards are installed? Two or three?
What kind are they? USB? PCI?
Do you use your Zentyal server as a gateway? If so, please tell us what you configured to be the internal / external card.

So you had eth2 and that was lost?
Please post the output of:
PS / Edit: The configuration is stored in a Redis DB which you can view/edit via "redisvi", but for the time being you better not touch it.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: hostname for service
« on: January 15, 2014, 08:16:06 pm »
In addition to DNS aliases, you need to setup a reverse proxy service -- provided that those other services you mentioned use HTTP.
Apache, nginx, Squid, DeleGate and many more can do that. There is no Zentyal module for this purpose, you'd have to configure it manually.

Zentyal has a daemon process for that, called "s4sync".

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Pros and cons of running zentyal as KVM host or as KVM guest
« on: November 27, 2013, 06:31:16 pm »Quote
In your opinion, what is the particular reason why proxmox (presumably using containers) may hold some advantage over a full virtualization solution like kvm? Perhaps, it is easier to segregate the networking?
No, I meant to install KVM-VMs with Proxmox (it supports both: KVM and OpenVZ containers). KVM is the way to go as Zentyal doesn't like to be installed inside a container.

what is the high level overview of how to configure the networking of the gateway system in this containerized proxmox setup ?
Dunno, this depends on your concrete network setup. Usually a gateway has two (virtual) NICs, one for the intranet/LAN and the other for internet access.

Personally, I'd setup something like Proxmox on the host and install two VMs to keep things separated. One as the file server and the other one as the gateway (be it Zentyal or something more lightweight like Zeroshell or IpCop).
To answer your questions:
* KVM is not supported anymore in Zentyal 3.2
* Yes, it should be possible to use KVM via command line on a Zentyal host
Cheers - Oliver

Wanderton, if you're brave enough, you can try these tools:
http://trac.zentyal.org/wiki/Documentation/Community/Development/Tools
I'd try first with zentyal-shell.

Du kannst alle Module mit beliebig vielen Benutzern verwenden.
Nur wenn Du Support brauchst, der über den der hiesigen Community hinausgeht, kostet's (verständlicherweise) Geld.

I think Thorsten is talking about this:

However, I cannot explain why Zentyal decided to publish beta versions to Ubuntu's repos ...

« on: June 04, 2013, 08:02:09 am »I can confirm that editing /usr/share/zentyal/stubs/dhcp/apparmor-dhcp.profiles.mas in order to add "network packet raw," (temporarily) solves the issue.I ran into the same issue and adding this line solved it. So please fix this for v2.2, too.
