Hi,

I've just added the option to enable/disable roaming profiles. I disabled it by default as jcanfield recommended.

According to the documentation and as jcanfield pointed out, there could be issues with existing users:

Quote

Disable  the use of roaming profiles by setting the value of this
parameter to the empty string. For example, logon path = "". Take
note that even if the default setting in the smb.conf file is the
empty string, any value specified in the user account settings in
the  passdb  backend  will  over-ride  the effect of setting this
parameter to null. Disabling of all roaming profile use  requires
that the user account settings must also be blank.

I guess during tomorrow this modification will be available in Ubuntu hardy.

Take a look at the modification:

Thank you guys for reporting and helping fix this.

I'll add an option to the GUI to enable/disable the roaming profiles in the next release.

I'll probably upload a package to test this feature during this week.

Cheers,

Javi

Suoku: the simplest way is that you download the backup using the samba share to your client machine. And burn the dvd in your PC.

Create a service with the desired port and protocol.

Go to the firewall and add a rule with that service.

Do you have to refresh the window of the very same machine from which you made the modifications?

You can't set quotas per a user-basis at the moment. But that's something we have on the radar.

If you want to create a special share you can manually modify the template  which is used to generate the smb.conf. That template is in /usr/share/ebox/stubs/samba/smb.conf.mas

After making changes you should regenerate samba configuration by running:

Code: [Select]
/etc/init.d/ebox samba restart

Which firefox version are you using?
What's the exact URL you are type in the browser?

Hey guys,

I agree with you guys that an AP module would be great.

You'll have it soon. We are a bit busy with the ubuntu migration at the moment  but as soon as we are done with that we'll start coding new features and one of them will be the AP.

Thanks

957
Yeah that's how you should install eBox in ubuntu 8.04.

You can ignore all debconf questions but eBox password.

Keep in mind that's a beta version, it will take us a few weeks till we have a production version.

What are you trying to do? ping eBox from the vpn client , or ping a client within your LAN form the vpn client. If you are doing the latter, make sure your internal machines have eBox as their default gateway.

Please, post your vpn client route table and your ebox route table.

Let's see if it's a ldap problem in case you have the ebox-samba module installed.

Boot in single user, when you are in, edit /etc/nsswitch.conf and remove the words ldap. Save the file and reboot and try again.
