Installation and Upgrades / Re: Multi relayhost MTA

once again im going on a wild gues, but im assuming that your implementation is tricky.. runing your own mailserver this way seams to me like your trying to implement a 'pop proxy / imap proxy' (just google it)..
while your current setup in fact is just an authorative mailserver on a domain that it doesn't own), witch obviously is mutch like what you expect from a 'spammer' (not that you are one obviously).
solving this on the client side, (configuering your groupware to use these acounts over imaps:// ).. would probaly be the easiest... even if that client is a webbased one.

than x2go as it blends in with the grafical server verry nicely... than its only about determening what ports it its using and going to the firewal module to alow access to these ports...
or you can install the vpn server, and create a server client bundle (certs) and install the client pack + cert on your desktop..

what i am assuming here.. please correct me if im wrong.. is that the user is using 3rd party mail providers...
for example gmail, hotmail (or thair buisyness / or governmental equivilents... meaning that the mail adresses ar not: me@my-zentyal.network.net
but instead: my-organisation@my-country.gov
if that is the case, than indead you need to use thair provided smtp to not get blacklisted .. (if thair mail settup requires it ...)... my advice would be to install a webmail platform that supports these features...
and i expect that tools like zarafa, or e-groupware are perfectly able to support this...
targetting the opposit of sieve can be troublesome (meaning sending instead of recieving from remote mail servers out of your control),

so you finaly fixed it.??
what i dont get is what could cause dhcp to screw this setup over...
unless you also checked [wan] it shouldn't make a diference
i for example have a firewall setup that provided static leases to each of my servers, just so when i reinstall dont have to concider what its ip was supposed to be...
bottom line: if ever you find out why it happend (or anyone else does), be sure to add it to the thread...

sure you can, as long as you read your vnc / freenx (other remote service) related manual about proper portforwarding / firewalling...
as you would probably need to open some ports... from the wan / to zentyal machine ...
i would recoment setting up a vpn... .. and bypass this via the tunnel...

barilkobart ...
im stil verry disapointed in both your tone and the kind of remarks you are making,
if your suposed problems are only because the software is so shitty like you seam to be insinuating and your disapoint ment is that the dev team is spending to few time on the forum 'trying to get new customers'
i can tell you that with the right editude you can get free support, or you can get support from presales people... that is by investing in software not by shouting at it...
also i have hear the 'support 100s or 1000's of servers' argument more times than i can remember. and basicaly it comes to, any msce tech should be perfectly able to dive in to the ubuntu documenentation and read (and understand) the lower level things that zentyal is doing...
so pay in, or put in some effort, both in being nice, AND in being productive.

it seams to be that it takes / took a long time to propagate the dns correctly...
1 mail i send from myaccount @ gmail is instantly delivered ... and the next takes about a bit longer...
note that the @zentyal.org accounts are all forwarders...
at the moment of this messege i seam to be able to get / recieve email just fine again in the alias...

just a simple question,
if your in a car with 2 streering wheels, 1 says left the other says right, what do you thing will happen...
if you want firestarter to work, put it in front of, zentyal not on the same instance...
what you could do is making a brigde between 1 if your eth interfaces and a virtual machine...
like so...:
eth0 (unmanaged by zentyal)
<eth-adaptor to client bridge>
[virtual machine (with firewall applience)]
<virt client 2 host bridge>
eth1 zentyal wan apdator (managed by zentyal),
[zentyal (with what you need it to be)]
eth2 (marked as lan)
<regular network connection>
[switch (for internal network)]
bold: ethernet adaptor
bold+underline applience with a function
 network transport

veel kennis maken met mensen, heeft soms wel eens een effect,
ik ga nog niets zeggen (of beloven), maar ik heb misschien nog een verrassing voor eenieder die aanwezig is..
