Installation and Upgrades / Best way to accomplish (multiple offices)

Hy there,

I have one job in hand, replace 3 windows AD, for one new AD, but to serve 5 remote offices.
I think about zentyal, and i already test in virtual lab have too zentyal servers (one PDC and another as ADC) and i think its is go

What bring me here, is some doubts/ask for implementation sugestions.

Location A
1xZentyal - PDC
1xZentyal - ADC (backup PDC)

Location B
1xZentyal - ADC (for local login)

Location C
1xZentyal - ADC for local login)

Location D
1xZentyal - ADC for local login)

Location E
1xZentyal - ADC for local login)

For fileserver i have no ideia how to do it... should i have 1 server in any location, what OS do you recomend so i can replicate everything across servers like AD do?

Hy there,

Any way i can set a quota limit to internet browsing/download?
I have lightsquid installed and i can know how many MB a computer have download and upload, can i set a limit so zentyal after that block all browsing?

Hy there!

I made a rule to port forwarding to rdp:
eth2-red   Zentyal   TCP   4003   Any   192.168.1.6    3389    Replace source address not checked log checked

In firewall log i see this:

eth0

192.168.1.6

REDIRECT


And the external connection every a few minutes keep fall. (this problem affect a windows server 2008)
Why the source port isn't 4003? why redirect and no allow?


Any clues?

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED] Remove 127.0.0.1 from resolv.conf ??

Hy there,

Please can anyone tell me how to remove the localhost line from resolv.conf?

Zentyal is my gateway, i have a server with 2003 that is the dhcp and the domain.
If i comment/remove 127.0.0.1 and first entry is domain ip in resolv.conf zentyal can ping/dig/nslookup any computer name inside my lan, if 127.0.0.1 is the first entry i only can ping to ip address inside my lan.

Any clue?

Configure zentyal as gateway firewall dhcpclient, dns server, transparent proxy IN a domain
dhcp server:
search domain -> your domain name
primary server: local zentyal dns
secondary nameserver: empty
 enable dynamic dns
dynamic domain  (same as before)
static same as dynamic

dns server:
Enable transparent dns cache (important)
your domain mus be dynamic domain
in tab hostnames add computers that you have configured as static ip and don't will be dhcp clients

http proxy:
transparent check

I'm problems when i need to reinstall the users module because slapd keep give me error because ldap configuration and password etc.

If you have the same issue, purge the slapd package and then remove/backup the /var/lib/ldap/* files.
