Installation and Upgrades / VPN subnet Firewall rules
« on: November 14, 2012, 05:36:12 pm »
If you allow client to client connections, do the firewall rules have any effect on the traffic.  I am trying to allow client to client connections, but control the communication within the VPN subnet 192.168.160.0.

Seems that only unless I install the printer sharing module, that file sharing starts on boot.  Otherwise I have to log into the web interface and select restart file sharing for it to work.

Installation and Upgrades / OPENVPN password-protect your client keys
« on: September 28, 2012, 05:32:53 pm »
Is there an option to password-protect your client keys in the Certificate authority or in the VPN module somewhere.  Not sure if  I over looking it.  I know that OPENVPN has the option for this when creating the certs with the "build-key-pass script".  This is great to some added security with your clients keys out there on road warrior scenarios where the entire remote device can disappear or fall into the wrong persons hands.

Installation and Upgrades / large data copy crashes samba4 file sharing
« on: September 14, 2012, 06:17:19 pm »
Since 2.3 beta, and currently in final 3.0, in 2 different hardware setups, when I rsync from linux or robocopy from windows a large amount of data >20gig, samba chokes, and must be restarted to allow access to the file shares.  I will analyze the samba.log and maybe syslog for clues, but has anybody else experienced similar behavior.

Thanks.

Installation and Upgrades / Ubuntu Network-Manger conflict
« on: June 12, 2011, 12:56:53 am »
Is there a way to get this work correctly, so the network module does not conflict with Network-Manger.  Trying to install zentyal from the Ubuntu repositories in 11.04.  But once installed, I no longer have Internet access on that computer.

Installation and Upgrades / transparent proxy and number of NICs
« on: February 16, 2011, 07:40:17 pm »
Cannot run transparent proxy, and access https website with only one NIC.  For example, if I setup my server as a standalone server, with one network interface card, but want to route web traffic to the proxy transparently it seems I need to add a second NIC for the proxy to work fully.  I can access non secure site perfectly with one NIC, but I think the firewall rules must be mucked up when just 1 NIC is installed.

Just wondering if this is by design, that I should run with 2 NIC in bridge mode, or if I have the single NIC configured incorrectly.

Installation and Upgrades / comprehensive Linux Kernel Crash Book
« on: February 11, 2011, 06:55:29 pm »
This appears to be a good free e-book to understanding some kernel stuff...

Which in-turn could be used to help debug some Zentyal issues....
