Installation and Upgrades / Re: openchange crashing

Yes, same here.

Had upgraded to Core 3.3.7 a couple days ago and it ran initially fine but now, after a hard reboot caused by a power failure, Zarafa does not start with an almost identical error message.

Thanks half_life for the 'life-saving' tip to start Zarafa manually!

Me too!

Except I'm on 3.3.4 just now...

Grateful for some pointers.

Thanks

Good morning Forum,

Will I screw up Zentyal 3.2 Community edition if I install Nagios and Cacti on the same server?
I need to monitor a small network - about 60 devices, partially on the WAN side and partially on the LAN side of a Zentyal gateway server. Any advice on how to do this?

Found on the forum only older posts refering to previous Zentyal versions  mentioning Cacti and Nagios and then only about issues with PHPMyAdmin.
Any updated info and instructions would be much appreciated.

Thank you miba,

Did you use just the new version of the zarafa-gateway file or install all of zarafa 7.1.8 beta 1? If all - how did you do that?

Beware of the Zarafa 7.1.7 update in Zentyal 3.2. The zarafa-gateway package crashes on POP3 mail retrieval. See https://jira.zarafa.com/browse/ZCP-11807

It accepts connections and authenticates correctly but segfaults when the mail client starts to retrieve mail.

My workaround is to replace the zarafa-gateway file /usr/bin with the one from the previous 7.1.4 package. A kludge but working...

Hi Markus,

Late reply - sorry.
Yes, changed the sources list and the upgrade went well. But am not using the Samba module.

No Problems!

Upgrade to 3.2 went well. Kudos to the Zentyal team. Great Job!

Markus - you could stamp the thread [SOLVED] I guess...

Took the plunge and upgraded from Core 3.1.11 to 3.1.13 and Zarafa from 3.1.4 to 3.1.6.

The above issue did NOT happen this time round, the Zarafa stores were still connected after the upgrade.

Now doing 3.1.13 to 3.2 - Keeping fingers crossed!!  :)

Got the same issue and, after the initial panic, also found the post deepc is suggesting. That post from miky_jr should be stickied - it's a life saver!

Luckily I did not have to recover a huge number of mail accounts. But, how does one avoid this happening again?

What is causing it? The Zarafa module upgrade or the Users and Computers module upgrade?

miky_jr wrote in his post from March 2013:

After knowing this annoying side effect we will change some zentyal implementation to fix this behaviour (sooner than later :) ).

Seems this has not been done yet...

I see there is now another upgrade of the Users and Computers module and I am weary of installing it. Would hate having to re-link all those orphaned Zarafa stores again and having to deal with the mail which arrives in the meantime in the new, empty stores.

Any suggestions for a Zentyal / Zarafa beginner?
