Installation and Upgrades / Configuring Joomla CMS to authenticate against eBox's LDAP
« on: January 26, 2008, 12:46:04 am »
Hi all,
I have been doing some experimenting and this evening have succesfully configured Joomla (a fabulous content management system) to use eBox as a source of user authentication using LDAP.
This applies to the latest version of Joomla - 1.5
I've posted the settings that worked for me over on the Joomla forum, but thought it was worth a post here as well.

Hope this of help to someone.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: content filtering
« on: December 28, 2007, 01:43:01 pm »Quote
We haven't this feature right now.
However it will be easy to write a perl script which would read a domain list and , through the eBox API, add each one to the proxy's list
Hi,
This would be a great addition to eBox in my opinion.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Can EBOX work in webproxy/content filtering only?
« on: December 22, 2007, 10:37:39 pm »
rsarda1,
I think it depends on whether you want to do transparent webproxy-ing/filtering or not.
If you want it transparent, so that client browsers don't need to specify a proxy I think something along the lines of the attached diagram will suit.
Let me know if that helps.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Big thanks!!

Hi all,
I'd like to echo my appreciation for both eBox and this lovely new forum.
I think this space will help the eBox project and community immensely.
If I could sneak in a little request though at the same time - is it possible to reduce the size of the forum headers? - they occupy nearly half of my visible screen height, and whilst looking nice, I think the screen real estate is best used for actual forum posts etc.
Just an idea......
Thanks again,
Tatster.
