Hello,
Since Zentyal 5 (clean install with all updates) i'm having problems with user / email accounts on my default domain.
Example: When creating a user i enter a users loginname 'timroijers'. Zentyal creates a mailbox with email address timroijers@roijers.com
Now when i login to SOGo webmail and write an email everything works just fine, send and receive no problem.
But i don't want my email address to be timroijers@roijers.com but tim@roijers.com.
When i change the email address to tim@roijers.com it's no longer possible to send and/or receive emails, i'm getting a 'Cannot send message: all recipients are invalid' in SOGo webmail. Somehow Zentyal does not match the user timroijers with the mailbox tim@roijers.com
Ik can only mail to users who has the same username / email address combination (like testuser with email address testuser@roijers.com)
Anyone can point me in the right direction?

When you create a user you can fill in the optional email field to set your address or you can add an alias.

I know you can set the email address in the optional field, that is the same as in Zentyal 4.0.
Only in Zentyal 4 you could choose any mail address in your domain. In Zentyal 5 the name in front of you domain (@roijers.com) must be exact as the username created in Zentyal.
user: timroijers
email: timroijers@roijers.com
WORKING

user: timroijers
email: tim@roijers.com

I understand now. You are correct. I created an account user@domain.com then changed its email address to useremail@domain.com. When I logged into SoGo it said no inbox found, So I rebooted the server. I was then able to login to SoGo and see useremail@domain.com however, mail is still rejected.
I also noticed that you cant change the host name of your server. It looks like a bunch of stuff just doesn't propagate through these crazy stub files.

I wonder if the commercial edition is just as buggy as the development edition?

for now i found a solution:
vi /usr/share/zentyal/stubs/mail/main.cf.mas
alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases
# local_recipient_maps = proxy:unix:passwd.byname $alias_maps
local_recipient_maps =
