Installation and Upgrades / Re: Port 80 redirect to readynas
« on: February 22, 2013, 09:21:09 pm »
I appreciate your input but I from what I am reading on reverse proxy I don't think this is what I want.

Maybe I am explaining it wrong, or maybe I just don't know what you are talking about since my experience with web servers and proxies are nothing.

I have a readynas on an internal ip address, let's say 192.168.1.100

I have my external ip address let's say 1.2.3.4 (yes I know this is not a real ip)

What I want to do is access 192.168.1.100/webshare from the internet.  Forwarding the port 80 from zentyal to 192.168.1.100 kinda works, but I have to type my external ip address, 1.2.3.4/webshare to get there.  I want to be able to simply input my external ip address 1.2.3.4 and it point to the internal 192.168.1.100/webshare. I hope this makes more sense.

Redirect to port 80 on the NAS won't work as I need to redirect to port 80 and then have it goto the /webshare page

I mean I can redirect 80 to 80 on the nas and then do a <External IP>/webshare and that works but I would prefer to have <External IP> automatically goto the webshare page

I have a Netgear ReadyNAS and wish to access the webshare via the net.  I would like my external ip address to point to the readynas. Easy enough right, just forward port 80 to the internal ip address of the ReadyNAS. The problem is that there is a forward slash involved.  The page I need to access is http://<internal ip of readynas>/webshare.

How to I redirect port 80 to <internal ip of readynas>/webshare

I forgot to check the "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" box in Windows Live Mail, works fine now.

From Any to Any seems like a security hole to me, I created one that said from any to 8888 and it didn't work, I then removed the service and added it again, now it works, something must have hung up before. Thanks

I have the HTTP and HTTPS server allowed to Zentyal with packet filtering, that did not work.  Is user's corner designed to only be accessed while on the network rather than from outside the network?  I also created a new rule from external networks to Zentyal using packet filtering to allow the port assigned to users corner to zentyal.  User's Corner uses https which as I said before is also allowed

I can access User's Corner from my network without a problem.  Is there a way to access it from outside the network??  I have forwarded the ports but the page just comes up with a timed out error.

Kinda in the same boat as eplejuz. my zentyal server is running great, so now I would like to move it into the server closet without a monitor.  While the webgui and ssh work well, I would like to be able to remote view the machine, whether rdp or vnc or whatever as a backup option.  There seems to be some mixed input here as to how or if this is possible.

So I need to enable the DNS module on the zentyal box then?  or do I need to use the internal ip ad the server?  \\192.168.1.2\disk1 ??

I was checking the logs and was a failed message to do needing elevation, so I ran the openvpn gui as admin and it seem to fix part of the problem, I can now ping my local network 192.168.1.0 as if I was there, so that is good!!  But my mapped drives still do not work.

Installation and Upgrades / [Solved] VPN to mapped drive
« on: July 31, 2012, 03:32:12 am »
Hello all!!

I have a PC running Zentyal 2.2 as a Gateway/Firewall/VPN server.

The VPN is 192.168.160.0/24 with tap1 interface on 192.168.160.1

the lan is 192.168.1.0/24.  I have this network advertised to the vpn.

I can connect to the VPN with out issue and am assigned the ip of 192.168.160.2

Now here is the problem.

I wish to connect to a mapped drive on the 192.168.1.0/24 network.  I can not ping any of the 192.168.1.0 ip address nor browse them on the network.  any thoughts on how I might be able to access the resources on the 192.168.1.0 network?  I have the drives mapped as such   \\NAS200\Disk1    The client is running Windows 7.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: FTP to Network Attached Storage
« on: July 31, 2012, 03:25:26 am »
I was able to solve this problem by removing the FTP module and then forwarding the FTP port through the firewall unchecking the "Replace Source Address" box as suggested by vshaulsk.

Thanks!
