Hi All,
I would like to ask for help on how to fix the mistake I created without reinstalling the whole Zentyal and/or reenter all the users and groups.
I mistakenly used the same domain for our domain controller while it is also an active website. Domain Users can't access the website from our office.
Thank you so much in advance.
Respectfully,
Raleigh

Also the HOST name?
I mean the site is www.mydomain.com and the Zentyal DC is www.mydomain.com?
Where is your website hosted?
On the same machine?

Hi GG_jr,
Thanks for the reply.
I used mydomain.com on Zentyal DC but we also have a website that also has the same domain, mydomain.com hosted outside.
My local users when tried to access mydomain.com website, they are going to the domain controller instead of the internet website.
Thanks in advance.

Hi raleigh,
Sorry for I ask again.
Your website is www.mydomain.com and can be found by http://www.mydomain.com and/or by http://mydomain.com. I'm I right?
If you look at Domain settings what do you see?
If is like you say, you should see:
Server Role: Domain controller
Realm: mydomain.com
NetBIOS domain name: mydomain
NetBIOS computer name: www
But I'm not so sure.
Maybe it's only a matter of DNS.
What do you see at Network -> DNS -> Search Domain?
What dou you see at DNS -> Forwarders - Forwarder and at DNS -> Domains - Domain?
EDIT:
I think that you have nothing at Forwarders and your local users search only by Search domain that is local domain.
At Search domain you should have what is at Realm and at Forwarders, an external DNS.

Hi GG_jr,
Yes, you got it correctly. Our website is www.mydomain.com and it is accessible by both ways esp as http://mydomain.com.
System / General / Hostname and Domain
Hostname: mydcserver
Domain: mydomain.com
Domain / Settings
Server Role: Domain controller
Realm: mydomain.com
NetBIOS domain name: mydomain
NetBIOS computer name: mydcserver
Is there anything to correct to avoid the conflict with the website?
We currently don't have an external nor own DNS server. That's what we're planning to do but is it still necessary?
Thanks so much again.

Is not a conflict with your website!
Your internal domain is set very well: mydcserver.mydomayn.com
Again, I think it's the DNS.
Did you set the forwarder?
Try to set forwarder: 8.8.8.8
Your users, can reach the Internet from their computers?
Network -> DNS -> Search Domain: mydomain.com
DNS -> Forwarders - Forwarders: 8.8.8.8
DNS -> Domains - Domains: mydomain.com

Thanks so much for the help, GG_jr
Is it OK to use its ownself as the DNS?
-
Hi,
Here, the DNS -> Domains is used for "search" in LAN.
For your LAN, the internal DNS is mydomain.com and the NS (Name Server) is mydcserver
For "search" in Internet, is used the forwarder (DNS -> Forwarders).
You can try instead 8.8.8.8, to use your provider NS. It should work.
I guess that you solved the problem?
