Hi everyone,
I currently have 4 places where i have to create new users. I want to build a program that creates the user for all 4 applications, starting with zentyal. So my question is: Is there a way to add a user trough a script or command?

Ik heb ICT/Hogere informtica en Bedrijfskundige informatica gestudeerd. Nu twee jaar werkzaam voor een zorginstelling in leeuwarden genaamd Rondomzorg. Wij zetten opensource software in voor bijna alles. Daarom hebben we zentyal nu ook. Ik ben er nog niet helemaal tevreden mee omdat ik tegen een aantal bugs aan loop. We krijgen over enkele maanden een nieuwe afdeling erbij en hier zal ook mee gesleuteld moeten worden met zentyal, dit is voor mij een hele uitdaging omdat ik nog nooit een zo'n grootschalig project heb gedaan. Ik ben nu nog alleen als ICT'er maar ik ga er vanuit dat dit in de toekomst wel zal veranderen. Mijn achtergrond is op zich Microsoft maar ik heb mijzelf de linux kneepjes aangeleerd. Tevens doe ik al het programmeerwerk voor de organisatie.

In reply to both messages above, i have the following setting:
ADSL (with DHCP <- i can't switch it off but that should not be a problem since i use the other nic as DHCP server for internal use). <- it's connected to -> zentyal server.
The modem is connected by a cat5 utp cable from the modem to eth1 and has an ip adresss of 192.168.2.254. I gave zentyal 192.168.2.100 as static and check the external checkbox).
Zentyal (eth0 = 192.168.3.1) this is connected with a cat5 utp cable to my laptop. When i put in a static ip on my laptop it works fine, but if want to use the DHCP it fails.
I guess a zentyal firewall should not make a difference and i only have the windows firewall on my laptop with windows 7 as operating system. Have Ubuntu 11.04 also installed <-- getting nothing from dhclient.

Okay i've taken the server home, so the configuration changed a little bit.
DCHP is not working now. I've put in the IP address myself, didn't get it from DHCP so i still can reach zentyal
Network
Interface (eth0) = internal. Don't ask me why it's 0 :p
So i made my internal NIC 192.168.3.1

Hehe it's not completely solved yet because the clients do not appear in the DHCP lease list and the searchdomain isn't passed trough to the clients. Anyone know why. Will post some screenshots later.

Thank you Marcus for your quick reply. I have an ADSL modem, so i can't connect it directly to the zentyal server (this is because of the RJ12 plug). What i can do is that i put an ethernet cable in the LAN1 and connect it to my zentyal server but then it will have an internal IP.. but i guess that doesn't matter since you assign it to an external port.
And as i understand it correctly the eth2 will be marked as internal and that provides access to the DHCP server.
So you would get the following setup:
MODEM (ETH1) <-- external --> ZENTYAL
ZENTYAL (ETH2) <-- internal --> SWITCH --> CLIENTS

Ok guys, it's been hours and i've still haven't found a way i can get the dhcp server working.
This is my situatation
Speedtouch Router (172.16.0.254) <--> Zentyal (172.16.0.1) <-- i configured this as a static IP.
DNS 127.0.0.1 / 172.16.0.254
Gateway 172.16.0.254
DHCP settings are as followed:
Default gateway : Zentyal (i tried 172.16.0.254)
Primary Nameserver : local Zentyal DNS.
Windows Computer (Which should use the DHCP server) is connected to the router at (172.16.0.254).
What am i doing wrong?? It can't reach the DHCP server somehow.

Ik vind dit een zeer goed plan, ik ben druk bezig met allerlei implementaties van zentyal. Binnenkort ook over verschillende locaties en ik ben hiervoor best bereid een eindje te reizen. Zeer goed initiatief.

Ik wil binnenkort proberen om een zentyal MASTER te maken, met daaronder een aantal SLAVES die met elkaar kunnen communiceren. Dus je krijgt dan één main server waar alle gebruikers in verwerkt zijn. Die dan synced met de andere servers in de omgeving.
Ik ben er nog niet helemaal tevreden over hoe je dit allemaal moet inrichten maar het moet allemaal mogelijk zijn.
