Spanish / Re: Ofrecer rultas estáticas en servicio DHCP
« on: September 14, 2021, 12:58:22 pm »

« on: September 14, 2021, 12:28:54 pm »

¿alguna idea?

Installation and Upgrades / Mail server only accessible from Zentyal box
« on: February 26, 2015, 11:34:21 am »
After a clean Zentyal 4.0 install, mail server seems to work fine from local Zentyal box (Kmail, Thunderbird as well webmail).

The problem is I can't acces it from the rest of the internal network via pop/imap (Thunderbird, autentication error), only webmail works (not tested from external networks).

Opening any tcp port in firewall doesn't helps, so probably is not a firewall issue.

What's my mistake?

My Zentyal box is set up with "Expiration period for deleted mails/spam" to 30 days. Nonetheless, none of them are never deleted automatically.

Changing 30 days to a different peridod, doesn't help.

Acutally this box is running a 3.4 version, wich is a 3.3 clean install + update, however this has never worked for me, neither 3.3 or the 3.4, but it worked flawlessly in my old 3.2 box.

Any idea abotu how to investigate/solve it?

Thanks.
Miquel.

I've found the problem: ssh tries first to connect via ipv6 and there is a bug in AAAA register setup in Zentyal DNS wich points to ::1 (=localhost) instead real server ip.

For now, 'ssh -4 user@remote.host' is the simplest workaround.

For now, adding "AddressFamily inet" to /etc/ssh/ssh_config in every host in the network is the most effective workaround, since works for ssh as well for rsync and is not necessary modify any script, but may be annoying in large networks.

Of course, the real solution is to configure/drop AAAA register via Zentyal, but I dont see the way to do it.

So, the question is: How can I setup AAAA register in Zentyal?

No, you're wrong here: no local DNS at all, only DHCP

This is not a client side issue: remember all clients (phisical and virtual) in my network are working fine -with any kind of change- against a Zentyal 2.2 server (running in a different box, but identical hardware), so, bug or mistake, this is a Zentyal 3.0 issue.

Of course, having less than 10 hosts in the network, this is not dramatic as the problem can be workarounded via /etc/ssh/ssh_config, but this is not what I'm looking for (and will be not suitable for most bigger networks).

Regards.

My Zentyal 3.0 server has two network interfaces: eth0 (internal) and eth1 (external) and there are 8 hosts defined in DNS: 2 virtual machines (xp / openSUSE) and 6 phisical (all them ubuntu 12.04).

I can ping every remote_hostname and access without issues to http://remote_hostname, so it seems DNS is correctly setup, isn't it?

The problem is ssh/rsync: 'ssh remote_user@remote_hostname' allways fails, because ssh tries to do 'ssh remote_user@localhost' instead ('rsync rsync://remote_host' also fails as it's seen as 'rsync rsync://localhost')

Of course ssh in 'remote_host' is correctly configured and 'ssh remote_user@192.168.12.X' works as espected.

Identical setup in Zentyal 2.2 is working flawlesly, so I guess i'ts a DNS issue.

Any one can help me?

Thanks.

At install time it's very easy: simply connect your RAID drives, start zentyal "text mode" install and assign a mount point for your RAID.

If your Zentyal is already installed, you must load RAID modules manually and mount it (may be in read only mode). If you dont know how to do this, just take a look at http://www.howtoforge.com, where you will find many tutorials covering a lot of scenarios.

Installation and Upgrades / Monitoring: 100% CPU and not working
« on: January 13, 2013, 11:38:07 am »
I'm setting up a new zentyal 3.0 server, but monitoring module eats 100% cpu, making fan work at maximum speed and, of course, very noisily. However, monitoring is not working for me: no graphics at all, even after waiting for 30 minutes (no such issue with zentyal 2.2 in the same hardware).

Anyway, since the graphics are not available, I assume it's safe to workaround it disabling the module. Right?

Is it a known issue? May be I did some mistake setting up my new box?

Thanks.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Web server: no DNS integration
« on: October 30, 2012, 02:09:00 pm »
That's my complain: wich works flawlesly in 2.2 is not working in 3.0

I will open a ticket about it this evening.

Then, it's a bug (and a regression since 2.2)

Documentation says "Virtual hosts is where you can define different domains associated to certain web pages. When you use this option to define a new domain, if the DNS module is installed, then the top level domain will be created. If a subdomain does not already exist, then it will be added"

Installation and Upgrades / Reset Zentyal box
« on: October 28, 2012, 12:46:52 am »
Is it possible to reset a Zentyal box to an after initial installation status? (when there is not available a backup of it's inital state).

I mean cleaning certificates, users, domains, dns...

Installation and Upgrades / Backup in 2.2 and restore in 3.0
« on: October 28, 2012, 12:25:30 am »
Is there a way to backup my actual 2.2 production server to an new 3.0 box?

There are two blocs I don't want to lose: (users + passwords) and (mail server setup)

Thanks.
Miquel.

Installation and Upgrades / Web server: no DNS integration
« on: October 27, 2012, 10:58:48 pm »
When a virtual host is created (from web server module, of course), Zentyal 3.0 does not update the DNS server settings: neither creates the domain if doesn't exist nor create the hostname alias for existing ones.

This way, it's not possible to resolve any virtual hosts unless DNS server is updated manually.

Miquel.
