Other modules / jabber - users with complex passwords cant login
« on: November 18, 2018, 06:52:20 am »
Hello - Zentyal forum.
users with long complex passwords are unable to log into jabber but users with simpler passwords, e.g. Password1! can login just fine.
users experiencing issues usually have passwords that are 18 characters in length, have upper/lower case, numbers and special characters such as $@
does jabber have some password character limitation?
my setup:
Ubuntu 18
Zentyal 6.0
Error messages:
When users with long/complex passwords try to login, the XMPP client errors out with "unauthorized"
ejabberd.log - <0.506.0>@ejabberd_c2s:handle_auth_failure:442 (tls|<0.506.0>) Failed c2s PLAIN authentication for username@home.domain.com from 192.168.1.145: Invalid username or password
Note: i confirmed the passwords are correct
thank you in advance

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Upgrade Zentyal to 6.0 and Ubuntu to 18.04
« on: November 17, 2018, 11:41:50 pm »
@Bert666 - that works. thanks for the idea.
update Nov. 17 - went down the docker path, used the following command 'sudo docker run -d nextcloud:fpm' - installed just fine, but when browse to the server http address i just get the default Apache screen.
i was following this guide -> https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-install-nextcloud-on-ubuntu-18-04-bionic-beaver-linux
am i overlooking something?

Button aside - anyone know of a good migration manual from 5.1 to 6? also, any thoughts on future integration of nextcloud into Zentyal
