Installation and Upgrades / VPN Setup

I'm trying to set up the VPN system in Zentyal as a stand alone server. I can get the client to attach and get an IP, and I've set the DNS and WINS server to Zentyal manually. I've also set the network as private on the client (windows 8.1).
I still can't see the network shares. They will pull up when I address them by IP, but not by name. What am I missing to find a system with just //computer1
Also, all the traffic isn't passing through the VPN. When I browse the internet it says my IP is still my non VPNd IP.
