News and Announcements / Re: Zentyal 4.1 available!

If the current goal of Zentyal is being SHIT, you're doing a GREAT job. Keep focused!

Installation and Upgrades / Moving out from Zentyal
« on: July 14, 2015, 10:00:01 pm »
Hi there,

I've been a Zentyal user since the very first versions. It's a real shame what's it's turning into.
If the goal of this project was "be an windows server replacement", it is now (poorly) and I really don't like it.
I was satisfied with postfix (no need for this openchange) and all the astonishing modules we had back there.
Even a basic use of a server like a proxy was removed. And that's not all the problem. For those who use it for enterprise or commercial ending: No trust at all. We can't trust on an "open sourced" "community" driven project which adds or remove modules every damn release. How can we put a function under production if we don't know if it will be available tomorrow anymore?
If you guys plan to create a commercial solution, please, get BSD kernel and do like the other guys, suck everything since the licence is much more permissive than gnu/linux, ubuntu ones..
I'm REALLY pissed off on moving 4 under production servers. You guys really took a shit on us, community.
Thanks.

Installation and Upgrades / Solution for multigateway problems
« on: November 06, 2013, 06:59:00 pm »
At least for me:

1- FTTH 1MB
2- ADSL 20Mb

Internet connection on proxy clients stopped, the latency was too high (200ms) and speed was low (20Mb working at 4Mb). With chris4916 help i set the rules like this:

SMTP - FTTH
POP - FTTH
DNS - FTTH

HTTP - ADSL
HTTPS - ADSL
Other stuff - ADSL

And REMOVED "Any TCP" and "Any UDP" from rules. Then i got 9, 10 ms on latency (ping) and got speed back.

The latency is between 160ms to 270ms... it's too damn high. Also, i can see that the proxy clients are going through the wrong gateway, and if i disable the muti-gateway/traffic balance options, the connection goes off :/
Idk what else can i do...
The dns servers are okay... i have opendns and google dns there.  :-[

Installation and Upgrades / Slow internet connection

Hi everybody,

I'm experiencing such a low speed (i mean not the speed itself, but it takes almost 10 seconds to start loading an webpage) after upgrading to Zentyal 3.2.
I've tryied disabling everything: antivirus, filters, traffic shapping, but even without the proxy it's still so slow.

Hi guys,

I've created 2 mail virtual domains, but then, when zentyal asked me to save, i've cancelled. Now there are 2 empty-named virtual domains and i can't exclude them. I get the error on zentyal.log: 2013/05/21 16:08:09 DEBUG> Validate.pm:595 EBox::Validate::checkDomainName - Invalid value for Virtual Domain: .

EDIT: It's on http://zentyal/Mail/View/VDomains

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Nginx Reverse Proxy

Hey guys,

I'm trying to do reverse proxy as well, but on apache.
I've found this

You don't need two dns servers for split dns, you can do it creating
two different "views": the external view will give to external IP, and
the internal view the internal IP.

You can achieve the same with a (probably) simpler solution: instead
of redirecting connections to port 80 to the internal host, you can
setup a reverse proxy in the eBox firewall and accept HTTP connections
in the eBox firewall. This way, apache will proxy the connection to
the internal hosts. This solution has the additional benefit that you
can have several internal web servers and proxy connections to them
depending on the name.

You can setup apache adding the file /etc/apache2/conf.d/proxy.conf
with this content:
---
ProxyRequests Off

# Intranet
<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerName www.example.com # You "official name"
ServerAlias intranet intranet.example.com # Aliases you may need

        ProxyPass / http://ip_or_name_of_internal_host/
        ProxyPassReverse / http://ip_or_name_of_internal_host/
</VirtualHost>
---

- You can have as many virtualhost definitions as you want for
different internal web servers
- Don't forget the "ProxyRequests Off" setting at the beginning, it
could be a MAJOR security problem
- Make sure you have the setting "NameVirtualHost *:80" somewhere in
your apache config file

Maybe it could be a nice feature to add this type of configuration to
eBox firewall module

Salu2!

Era isso mesmo Rafael... Foi só pedir a GVT pra setar o reverso e adicionar o bendito registro SPF. Agora tudo certo :D
