Will HTTP Proxy becoming back?

use contrib repo

I followed the guide on here but when I installed the module it said it was for versions before 4.1.. How do I make the module for 4.1?

I have tried that, but the deb that is built is not compatible with 4.1 (zentyal-squid_4.0.1_all.deb).

Hi, I'm trying to build a module following the guide at https://wiki.zentyal.org/wiki/Building_and_maintaining_a_contrib_Zentyal_module however when I come to install the module it fails as the module is for pre 4.1. How can I build it for 4.1?

HTTP Proxy Server removed?! That's one of the main reasons I chose Zentyal. Time to find an alternative SBS server then!

Don't know if it has been mentioned before but if there was a was an easy way to rollback to previous updates if a update does cause the server to break then that would be awesome

Thanks will look at the firewall settings to see how to stop HTTP.

Sorry forgot to mention I can't use group policies as my clients are running Ubuntu 13.04, but have a script that runs on each logon that configures the proxy settings

I understand how the proxy works and how to figure it, and realise that enabling Transparant proxy would solve my problem. However I need per user filtering on my proxy so cannot enable that.

If my clients disable the proxy in thier internet settings or use a device not configured to use a proxy then they will surf the net completly unrestricted, so was hoping thier was away to disable the internet except for proxy

Hi, I have installed the IPSEC module on Zentyal 3.2 and have got my Android phone successfully connecting to it. However I cannot see any other computers on the physical network can only access the webadmin page for Zentyal. On openvpn there is a 'Allow Client to Client' checkbox.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. It appears that Likewise starts as an upstart service. I'm still finding my way around linux and havent came accross upstart yet :/

I have tried looking on likewise's forums and support pages but no luck, it also seems as if centrify has the same issues

Have a Zentyal 3.1 server and have ubuntu 12.04 clients, the clients have likewise open install (latest powerbroker version). The clients can join and login to the domain fine, however when first powering on the client users have to wait about 20-30 seconds after the login screen has appeared before logging in otherwise they will receive a incorrect login error.

After much researching it appears that the reason this is happening is because the login is loading before the likewise service due to upstart.

Anybody know a way that i can sort this, either by not displaying the login screen until likewise is ready or ensuring that likewise is run before the login screen.

I know this topic is old, but thought I would post my experience running Zentyal on a low power pc.

I have been running Zentyal on my hardware for about a year and have had no problems at all! The server runs without a monitor attached and remote access is performed via xRDP. The server is just being used as a home server with about 6 devices on the network.

The hardware is:
- Intel Atom D525 (1M Cache, 1.80 GHz) http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/motherboards/desktop-motherboards/desktop-board-d525mw.html
- 4GB Ram
- 1TB HD
- 1TB USB External HD for Backups
- 2 x Gigabit Ethernet ports

The following modules are enabled:
-  HTTP Proxy
-  DHCP
-  DNS
-  NTP
-  OpenVPN
-  File Sharing (Active Directory PDC)
-  Printer Sharing
-  Zarafa
-  Webserver (with OwnCloud)

I have enabled and disabled various other modules over the course of the year and the server had coped well, understandable the only limitation is running virtual machines.

I am trying to install PS3MediaPlayer or plex on my server. The software runs fine, but because the music is located on one of my network shares I have to run the program as Root in order to let the program access the folder. The share is located at /home/samba/shares/shared.

Is there any way I can run the software without root?
