Installation and Upgrades / building zentyal-ftp for 4.0 and login as ldap user

Today i build the zentyal-ftp module from github master sources. I am guided by the wiki. I did adjust as mentioned in the Building wiki 1)*, as well the changelog release for 4.0. Build and install the package next. Now I am able to login as system user beer, but not as a other, read ldap user, frans. I also did read up about Samba4 auth 2)*. The different is adding @include common-auth at /etc/pam.d/vsftpd, and restarting the service. But i am still not able to login as ldap user frans.

Hello Rob,

If I am well informed, nginx is only used for the Admin Webserver. The Webserver, Roundcube Ubuntu packages are depending on, is Apache. So that isn't a real way to go. There is nothing wrong with SOGo / OpenCHange webmail. But more users will find out, It's only supporting one sending domain. And users are more familiar with Roundcube, true.

Hello Rob,

It's using EBox WebServer. And that module is not avail, check my other topic. So we have to find a smart way around.

I was wondering, since Zentyal removed the Roundcube webmail modules, is there a way around for still using Roundcube in 4.0?

Hello,

Come on, serving websites was so easy in 3.5. Think from the Zentyal user point of view, that isn't difficult to do! Just check what got to be done, for porting the 3.5 website module into 4.0. And just do it, please! Users will be more than happy with it. That's for sure ...

Non response yet. Is my question really to difficult? What dependencies are needed to install, now. And what do I have to set with vsftpd, that it gonna use ldap? And it's nice to know, what's wrong with the Zentyal module that's it is dropped? What got to be done to fix it?

I have a server running. Wanna upgrade to 3.5 soon. But one of the services i have, is vsftpd. But have seen, the Zentyal ftp service module is dropped. What would be the right path to move on with ftp?
