Installation and Upgrades / Block a URL with zentyal as DNS Server

Hi All,
Though i am not sure but i have a slight logic in my mind that i can block a site/URL with zentyal as DNS server for my LAN.
in simple words, i have configured zentyal as a DNS server, now on my LAN systems, i have configured zentyal IP in their DNS settings.
Now if i want to block a URL (say facebook.com) without enabling HTTP proxy, can i do the same?

What is this error guys?:
Samba can't be provisioned if no IP addresses are set and the DNS domain is properly configured. Ensure that you have at least a IP address assigned to an internal interface, and this IP has to be assigned to the domain and to the hostname in the DNS domain

Hello Geeks,
I have a small query as i am going to install a new linux gateway server in my office. I am supposed to protect the internet access with user authentication.
In other words, systems connected on the LAN should be able to connect to internet only after user login so that the bandwidth and usage time is restricted.
Can i achieve this using zentyal as server (plus any services on zentyal if required)

Installation and Upgrades / logs dont show https requests (URLs)

Hi Geeks,
I thought of looking into http logs and what i saw is the URLs of http requests only in the logs... however the logs dont show the https URLs as such...
any help how could i monitor https requests?

Hello Geeks,
I have a general question about the schema/topology of a squid server. actually m a bit jumbled up with the things.
My current scenario is like this: I have a new linux/zentyal gateway in a office for a new ISP line. I have enabled the proxy in it. i have mainly two purposes with that server: 1. to block certain sites for few users of a new domain(R&D) guys. 2. I have to monitor which all sites they visit oftenly.
now my question is, since they have provision of setting the gateway to either my zentyal gateway(mentioned above) or an already set different gateway (say server x in the office.
case1: if they set gateway to server x, would i be able to perform any of the two aforementioned tasks with my server?
case2: if they set gateway to my zentyal server, would i be able to guage/moniitor what they r browing and block what i require OR do i need to set the proxy address settings on their machine first?
I am totally confused and need a comprehensive answer to understand all what i need to do.

Installation and Upgrades / traffic blocked on one WAN port

Hello All,
i have configured two public IPs on zentyal server which i have deployed recently in my office.
the IPs are like this:
WAN1: 115.xx.xx.18
WAN2: 182.xx.xx.90
i am using IP 182.xx.xx.91 to access internet in my office currently and when i try to ssh or ssl on interface 115.xx.xx.18, it gets refused. i think this is by default in zentyal in order to avoid network loops however i am not concerned much about loops at the moment so i need to access the .18 interface from my system (.91).
Anybody help please!

I recently installed HAproxy loadbalancer on zentyal and it is working perfectly!
I am, however, facing the issue of retrieving HAproxy logs as i dont know where from could i retrieve the same.
The HAproxy statistics are showing some errors in requests on the webservers and i want to know more about the errors in logs.
Anybody help please.

Hello All,
All of a sudden i am not able to use ftp and rdp services which i have forwarded to an internal windows server.
The logs show that the ports 21 and 3389 'REDIRECT' to the local IP of the windows server.
Any idea why it could be so?

Hello all,
I recently installed a new connection from a different ISP and i am using it to access net exclusively keeping the old ISP line dedicated for zentyal.
Now when i try to connect to zentyal on https port to gain access to dashboard, i am not able to connect.
any idea?

i restarted my zentyal from GUI administration page and upon restart, i am not able to open the page anymore.
when i try to open the localhost page, i get the error:
unable to connect

Installation and Upgrades / Onboard ethernet port not detected

Hello mates,
I have installed zentyal on a new i5 system with Intel DH61DL motherboard which has onboard gigabit ethernet card fabricated.
After installing zentyal, it detects only on-slot cards (gigabit) however the onboard giga-port does not get detected
when i type command 'ifconfig -a' it displays only on-slot ethernet gigabit card and loopback interface and 'lshw -class network' command shows 3 interfaces (2 physical + 1 loopback).
In the first network interafce details it shows "UNCLAIMED" interface.
Any idea if it is a zentyal bug or zentyal doesn't support DHL61 board or do i need to do anything in the configuration to get this one detected also?

Hello All,I have recently installed a zentyal server and is successfully running in the environment to perform following tasks:
1.load-balancing
2.firewall
3.http-proxying
4.port-forwarding
5.WAN failover
Now i want to install a backup of the zentyal server which should work in the real-time environment and is active when the main zentyal server is down.
anybody suggest a viable topology/configuration!!!

Hello guys,
i have installed a zentyal server and configured it for port forwarding.
i have assigned the public IPs to WAN interface and created a virtual interface as i have multiple Public IPs.
WAN: 115.xx.xx.18
WAN:virt : 115.xx.xx.19
LAN: 192.168.10.1
Server1: 192.168.10.2
Server2:192.168.10.3
the port-forwarding rules work for WAN interface and i can access .18 from internet however the port-forwarding doesn't work for WAN:virt interface
